1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the game:
- Account information you provide, such as your username, email address, and an optional profile photo.
- Gameplay data you create in the app: your match predictions, points, leagues you create or join, daily missions, and Oracle answers.
- Device and usage data, such as device type, operating system, app version, language preference, approximate region, and anonymous analytics and crash reports that help us fix problems and improve the app.
- Subscription status for Goolak Premium. Purchases are processed by Apple and Google; we receive whether your subscription is active, but we never see your card or bank details.
2. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and run the core features of the app.
- To calculate points, build leaderboards, and operate free prize leagues.
- To send you notifications you have enabled (you can turn these off at any time in your device settings).
- To provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the contest fair.
- To understand how the app is used so we can improve it.
- To meet legal obligations and, where required, to verify eligibility for prizes.
3. Prize leagues
Prize leagues are free to enter and decided purely by skill. If you are a potential winner, we may need to contact you and verify details such as your age and place of residence in order to award a prize, in line with the Official Rules. We use this information only to run the contest and award prizes.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers who help us operate the app, under agreements that protect your information:
- Supabase — secure database and account authentication.
- RevenueCat — manages Goolak Premium subscriptions.
- Apple App Store and Google Play — app distribution and payment processing.
- Analytics and crash reporting providers — to measure usage and diagnose errors.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and our service.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time (see below). Some records may be kept where the law requires it.
6. Your choices and rights
You can access or update your profile in the app, turn notifications on or off in your device settings, and choose what you share. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To make a request, contact us at hello@goolak.app.
7. Deleting your account
You can request deletion of your account and personal data from within the app or by emailing hello@goolak.app. We will action your request within a reasonable time.
8. Children
Goolak is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data and respond quickly to any issues.
10. International processing
Goolak operates globally, and your information may be processed on servers located outside your country. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your data remains protected.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
